Angela Locoro

Angela Locoro (MA in Modern Literature; BsC in Computer Science; PhD in Computer Science; Master in Science and Economics Journalism) is currently Assistant Professor at LIUC. She teaches measurement science and statistical data analysis together with Luca Mari. She is also currently involved in the teaching of ERPs like SAP. Her past long teaching experiences in Computer Science include Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, IT Knowledge Management, and Web Design.

Her research toolbox includes exploratory, descriptive, predictive and prescriptive methods applied to the scrutiny of Socio-Technical (work) settings, where humans and technologies coexist. Her main researches were devoted to the creation and management of formal domain models of Knowledge Representation (description logic ontologies), the creation and assessment of methodologies for data management and open data intergration quality, the study of human-data interaction paradigms such as Data Visualization, the qualitative assessment of Machine Learning and automation support in collective knowledge, intelligence, and decision making tasks of scientific and work knowledge communities such as medicine and the like. Her PhD thesis on Ontology Matching and Natural Language Processing received an award from the Engineering community and her paper on Knowledge Information Technology Artifacts was awarded as best paper at the International Conference on Knowledge Management and Sharing (KMIS) in 2014.

She serves as Conference Track Chair for ECIS 2019 and ECIS 2018 (rank A in the CORE 2018 Conference Ranking System). She organized several International Workshops on Knowledge IT Artefacts (KITA 2014, 2015) co-located With KMIS (Knowledge Management and Information Sharing) International Conference; the 2016 Edition of the VVH (Valuable Visualizations in Healthcare) Workshop, co-located with AVI (Advanced Visual Interfaces) International Conference; and, and the PhD Summer School in Computer Supported Cooperative Work (editions 2016, 2017).

She serves as a Program Committee Member of International Conferences: Cultures of Participation Workshop (CoPDA 2015), held in conjunction with the International Symposium on End User Development (IS-EUS 2015); International Conference on the Design of Cooperative Systems (COOP 2016); CoPDA 2016, held in conjunction with the International Conference of Human-Computer Interaction (NordCHI 2016); CoPDA 2018, held in conjunction with the International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces (AVI 2018); IS-EUD, 2019.
